Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari: Varun Dhawan’s NEW Film Sparks Excitement, Get the Release Date

After their first on-screen collaboration in Bawaal, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor are back together for Shashank Khaitan’s much-anticipated romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Initially scheduled to hit cinemas on September 12, the film has now been rescheduled for release on October 2, 2025 a festive date that coincides with both Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra.

Varun’s First Look as ‘Sunny Sanskari’ Unveiled

On Monday, Dharma Productions unveiled Varun Dhawan’s first look from the film. Dressed in a shiny beige embroidered shirt with flashy accessories and sunglasses, Varun is seen flashing a cheerful smile with folded hands, fully embracing his character, Sunny Sanskari. The poster also features a dramatic poetic line: “Yeh aansoon hain mere, samundar ka jal nahin… Baarish ka kya bharosa, aaj hai… kal nahin!!!”

Festive Advantage and Box Office Strategy

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the October 2 release is a strategic move by producer Karan Johar. With Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti falling on the same day, the film is expected to enjoy a strong festive weekend and a clean three-week run before Diwali competition arrives.

However, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will face a box office clash with Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, starring Harshvardhan Rane.

Supporting Cast and Upcoming Projects

Alongside Varun and Janhvi, the film also stars Akshay Oberoi, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, and Maniesh Paul. This is Varun’s third collaboration with Shashank Khaitan, after Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017).

Meanwhile, Janhvi will next be seen in Param Sundari (August 29), while Varun is gearing up for Border 2, slated for Republic Day 2026.
