When Tusshar Kapoor was roped in for CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI, its director Samir Karnik had one basic requirement – he wanted him to look, talk, act and behave as a ‘hero’ in the film. Since this is also one of the rare solo starrers for Tusshar, there was no padding available from any other actor which means the actor had to take the mantle and lead from the front.

”Tusshar’s name adds good weight when it comes to multi-starrer films, case in point being GOLMAAL series or other successful films like THE DIRTY PICTURE, SHOR – IN THE CITY or ONE TWO THREE. In fact he is also a must inclusion in his other franchises like KYAA SUPER KOOL HAI HUM and SHOOTOUT AT WADALA, both being multi-starrers. However he isn’t seen in many solo films and ever since KYA LOVE STORY HAI (2007), he has done only one solo film LOVE U…Mr. KALAKAAR, observes an industry insider.

Incidentally in both these solo films too he was required to underplay his part and came across as a way too subtle character. Though he is mostly seen as someone far more exuberant in his multi-starrer comic affairs, it is nothing less than ironic that he has take an about turn for his solo films.
Smiles Tusshar, ”Yes, Samir didn’t want me to come across as a mere comic actor. CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI is a romcom instead of being an out and out comedy. It didn’t take me much time to see where he was coming from.”
With Kulraj Randhawa as the leading lady, CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI boasts of a very strong supporting cast comprising of Anupam Kher, Om Puri, Chandrachur Singh, Mukul Dev, Johny Lever, Anita Raaj and Sushant Singh. The film releases all over on 9th March.
