A troubling incident has surfaced involving comedian Pranit More, who was reportedly assaulted following his show in Solapur on February 2, 2025. According to his team, a group of men, posing as fans, attacked him after the performance. The assault was allegedly led by an individual named Tanveer Shaikh, who, along with his accomplices, issued a chilling threat: “Agli baar Veer Pahariya Baba pe joke maarke dikha.”
The incident has sparked concerns over artists’ safety, especially as Pranit’s team alleges that the venue had inadequate security and is now withholding CCTV footage. They also claim that their efforts to seek police intervention have so far been met with indifference.
Veer Pahariya Responds
Following the controversy, Veer Pahariya took to Instagram to express his shock and dismay, distancing himself from the attack. In a statement on his Instagram story, he firmly condemned the violence:
“I am truly shocked and saddened by what happened to comedian Pranit More. I want to make it absolutely clear I had no involvement in this, and I strongly condemn any form of violence.*
As someone who has always taken trolling in stride, laughed along with it, and shown love even to my critics, I would never encourage or support harm towards anyone, let alone someone from the same creative fraternity.”
Veer also extended his apologies to Pranit and his supporters, assuring them that he would personally push for accountability.
The incident has reignited conversations around freedom of expression and the need for stronger protections to ensure comedians and artists can perform without fear of retaliation.
