Vicky Kaushal thanks Neeraj Ghaywan as Masaan marks nine years: Fans say, ‘Agar Masaan nahi hota toh Uri bhi nahi aati’

Nine years ago, Vicky Kaushal made his debut with the critically acclaimed film “Masaan,” establishing himself as a prominent talent in the Indian film industry. As he celebrates the success of his recent release “Bad News,” Kaushal took a moment to reflect on his journey and express gratitude as “Masaan” marked its 9th anniversary.

On Instagram, the “URI” actor shared a still from “Masaan,” featuring him dressed as a typical village boy in a simple undershirt, with his eyes closed and head tilted towards the sky, set against a scenic backdrop of a bridge and river. He captioned the post: “9 years. Thank you @neeraj.ghaywan #Masaan.”

Netizens quickly responded with heartfelt comments. One user wrote, “Making us proud ever since,” while another commented, “Agar Masaan nahi hota toh Uri bhi ni aati.” Another fan remarked, “No tauba tauba can beat tu kisi rail si guzarti hai (ily for this movie).” Additional comments included, “Spreading happiness since 9 years,” and “You have come a long way! So proud of your journey.”

Reflecting on his iconic line from “Masaan,” “Ye dukh kaahe nahi khatam hota? (Why doesn’t this sorrow end?)” Kaushal described his method acting approach in the first episode of “Be A Man Yaar.” He spent an hour by the banks of the Ganges, imagining the grief of losing his mother to deliver the line authentically. He created a scenario where he had been kept in the dark about his mother’s death to avoid disrupting his work on his debut film, immersing himself deeply in the emotion.

Looking ahead, Vicky Kaushal has just wrapped up filming for Laxman Utekar’s “Chhaava” and has kept fans engaged with behind-the-scenes photos from the set. He is also set to feature in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Love and War,” sharing the screen with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
