Deepika Padukone at the launch of Melange’s ethnic look for COCKTAIL reveals that she did not like the song ‘Daaru Desi’ initially. However, she was only convinced about the melody after it gained humongous popularity on the internet.
CHECK OUT: COCKTAIL Music Review
Says the leggy lass, “‘Daaru Desi’ was the first song we started shooting. In a love story, I always believe that the music of the film is very important. And when I heard this song, I looked at Dinu (producer Dinesh Vijan) and we had a serious chat that we can’t use this song. I said ‘It’s a shit song. It’s really bad. And if this is the way the music of the film is going to be then our film is not going to work.’ And so we had a bet of 10 lakhs. And I’ve officially lost the bet. So, I owe Dinu 10 lakhs because that song has got crazy hits… I mean I am ashamed of having this argument with him. Basically, I have guessed my case and I shouldn’t argue with Dinu at least when it comes to the music in future.”
COCKTAIL also stars Saif Ali Khan and debutant Diana Penty and is all set to release on 13th July.
