Her last leading lady role may have been some time back but Mallika Sherawat was never out of sight. She continued to make her presence felt, what with item numbers in THANK YOU [Razia] and BIN BULAAYE BARAATI [Shalu] and a strong comic part in box office success DOUBLE DHAMAAL. No wonder, when KISMET LOVE PAISA DILLI a.k.a. KLPD came to her, she jumped with joy and was more than happy to be paired opposite Vivek Oberoi as a leading lady.
Informs a source attached to the film, "Long ago Mallika had seen Sanjay Khanduri's debut flick EK CHALIS KI LAST LOCAL and had loved it. In fact she sent him a congratulatory message stating that she was inclined to be associated with him. There was certain connect formed there and then."
Meanwhile Sanjay was taking some time to put together his next film while Mallika too was Hollywood bound. They didn't lose touch though and found themselves sitting across the table once producer Amit Chandrra decided to back KLPD.
"The fact of the matter is that she is very choosy about her leading lady assignments and still rejects at least two scripts every week," the source continues, "For her to be seen as a heroine, a film had to be really special and KLPD promised to be one such outing."
She was in Los Angeles when Amit sent her the script of KLPD. To his and Sanjay's pleasant surprise though, she reverted within a day and confirmed that she had loved it so much that she was ready to begin as and when the makers decided to bring it on floors.
When contacted, Sanjay said, "Well, I am told that she does only those films which she has faith in steps in only if she is totally convinced about its content. Her doing KLPD only makes the film further special."
The film releases all over on 5th October 2012.
