Richa Chadha has always done some striking roles from OYE LUCKY LUCKY OYE to GANGS OF WASSEYPUR series. Now the actress is set to play a journalist in her upcoming next CHALK & DUSTER.
The film highlights the hardships of the teachers, not only in their day-to-day lives, but also in the education system and society norms.
Though it’s just a cameo, her role is said to be strong, powerful and it is quite special for Richa. Reason? Well, the film is based on the life of teachers and Richa’s mom is a professor herself. So she can totally relate to the story.
Commenting on the same, Richa says, “Both my parents are originally academics. My mother teaches in Delhi University, and that was another reason why I felt I could be a part of the film,” and adds, “My mother usually doesn’t ask me anything about the roles I choose, but this time she asked me what the film was about, even though I am doing just a tiny cameo."
Juhi Chawla, who also stars in the film, plays the role of a teacher.
Directed by renowned make-up artist-turned-director Subhash Singh, CHALK & DUSTER also has an array of actors like Shabana Azmi, ANupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, Zarina Wahab, Arya Babbar, Upasana Singh, Ritu Shivpuri and Divya Dutta.
