The actor, who hails from a filmy background, is the son of legendary Bollywood star Raj Rapoor and brother of actors Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor. He made his debut on the silver screen as a child artist in MERA NAAM JOKER, where his father played the lead role. Kapoor won a National Film Award in the category of Best Child Artist for MERA NAAM JOKER
The actor’s first venture as a hero was BOBBY with Dimple Kapadia, which became a major hit and he also won a Filmfare award for BOBBY. He starred in films like KARZ, PREM ROG, COOLIE, SAAGAR, NAGINA, CHANDNI, HENNA, BOL RADHA BOL, DEEWANA, HUM TUM, FANAA, NAMASTE LONDON, LOVE AAJ KAL and PATIALA HOUSE.
The actor’s pairing with his wife Neetu Singh Kapoor has always been admired. The couple together was seen in superhit films like KHEL KHEL MEIN, KABHIE KABHIE, AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY and DOOSRA AADMI.
While he has a successful legacy of romancing his leading ladies on screen, the actor now experiments with different kinds of roles and has commanded equal successes in the same.
