Imagine sharing a room with one of the biggest music groups in the world — and not recognising them. That’s exactly what happened to Indian comedian Zakir Khan during a visit to South Korea, where he unknowingly spent time with the global K-pop sensation, BTS.
Mistaken Identities in South Korea
In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Zakir recalled his hilarious encounter. He had travelled to Korea to attend an event featuring a major celebrity. Coincidentally, BTS was also scheduled to meet the same person. Due to his late arrival, Zakir was placed in the same entry group as the BTS members.
Completely unaware of who they were, Zakir casually started a conversation. “I asked one of the members, ‘Who are you and where are you from?’ and he told me they are from BTS,” he said. “I thought they were part of the behind-the-scenes team called by the Korean organisers.”
A Delayed Realisation
Zakir admitted he had heard of BTS but had no idea what they looked like or how famous they really were. It wasn’t until later — much later — that the reality hit him. “When I told people I was in the same room as them for 35 minutes, they fainted,” he laughed.
BTS Returns to Spotlight
BTS, consisting of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, is one of the most influential music groups globally. Known for their chart-topping music and massive fanbase (ARMY), all seven members recently completed their mandatory military service and have resumed solo activities, including new music and public appearances.
While Zakir may have missed the BTS buzz in the moment, his story has left fans amused — and slightly jealous!
