Veteran Bollywood icon Zeenat Aman marked her 74th birthday on November 19, and the celebrations turned out to be far livelier than she had anticipated. Known for favouring quiet, intimate gatherings, the legendary actor surprised fans by stepping out for a party hosted by her close friend Pammi an evening that saw her dancing with an energy she says she “hadn’t in years.”
Fans got a charming peek into the festivities when Zeenat’s longtime friend and fellow actor Archana Puran Singh shared a video from the celebration on Instagram. In the clip, Zeenat is seen cutting a decadent chocolate cake as guests sing “Happy Birthday,” their applause filling the room. Dressed in a radiant yellow embroidered suit, the birthday star is also seen warmly greeting guests, chatting with Archana, and posing with her trademark grace and poise.
Archana’s caption was filled with affection and nostalgia. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZEENAT. Dancing last night on Dum Maro Dum with youuuuuu was the highlight of the evening for me,” she wrote, adding that she wished she had captured the moment on camera. She went on to celebrate Zeenat as someone who has “always lived life on her own terms” and remains “an icon for millions.” Her message ended with heartfelt wishes for a year filled with “love, laughter and good health.”
Zeenat herself shared a more serene slice of her special day through a post featuring flowers, candles, cakes, and her beloved pets. “Celebrated another turn around the sun as I always do with the boys and Lily (the cats ignored the festivities),” she wrote, capturing her trademark humour.
Reflecting on the larger celebration that followed, she added, “I always keep the celebrations small, but last night I had to attend a party hosted by my dear friend Pammi. My goodness! Those larger-than-life Punjabis had me cutting cakes and dancing like I haven’t in years! … This departure from normalcy was most fun, but I’m happy to be back in hermit mode again too.”

On the work front, Zeenat Aman was last seen in the Netflix series The Royals. She now awaits the release of Faraz Arif Ansari’s Bun Tikki, co-starring Shabana Azmi and Abhay Deol. The Manish Malhotra–produced film premiered at the 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival in January 2025, generating strong anticipation for its upcoming release.
