Actors Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway recently appeared together at a press conference and premiere event for The Devil Wears Prada 2. The event took place on April 8 at the Four Seasons hotel in Seoul, South Korea.
The two actors attended the event to promote their upcoming film. During the appearance, both of them were also presented with embroidered red heels, which added a special touch to the occasion.
In a recent interview with Anna Wintour for Vogue, Meryl Streep spoke about the making of the first film and how fashion played a role in shaping her character, Miranda Priestly. She explained that during the first movie, many designers were hesitant to provide outfits. “Well, everybody was afraid of Anna on the first one, so we couldn’t find any clothes,” she said. “Nobody would give us any clothes. This time we pared her down. We made her simpler and just more essentially her.”
Meryl also spoke about how the character’s look has changed in the new film. She said, “And we do have less hair with me so that was not as floppy and floopy.” She added, “She loves an accessory, but there’s a fearless thing with her. Less worried about what anybody thinks.”
The interview was moderated by Greta Gerwig. During the conversation, Meryl also shared her thoughts on a past public moment involving Melania Trump and her widely discussed “I Really Don’t Care” jacket.
The event in Seoul marks part of the promotional activities for the upcoming film. Both actors are returning to their roles, and the film continues the story from the original movie, which focused on the fashion industry and workplace dynamics.
