AVENGERS: ENDGAME Is Thanos a hero or a villain?

Yesterday, we discussed who the real hero of AVENGERS ENDGAME is?! And the conclusion was surprisingly stunning. The ENDGAME is ruling the universe and keeps haunting us again and again and every haunt comes with a new revelation. We have spoken about the super heroes but there is something about this super villain Thanos that keeps on asking these questions again and again, Is Thanos really a villain or a saviour of universe with a twist?! A hero, a super hero we didn’t see coming, a super humane?!

Beyond any iota of doubt, the finger snapping the extraordinaire Thanos (Josh Brolin) is the one that stays on the audience mind and his impact is bigger than all the AVENGERS combined together.

With all the probability of that mouse, the motivation by Ant Man, the brilliance and the power of IronMan, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Captain America, Dr. Strange etc., all would have been of no use if Thanos had not shown this humane side in the ENDGAME that comes with a soul stirring spirituality.

The movie begins with Carol Danvers rescuing Tony Stark and Nebula from deep space and coming back to earth. They reunite with the remaining AVENGERS – Bruce Banner, Steve Rogers, Rocket, Thor, Natasha Romanoff and James Rhodes – and use Nebula's knowledge to find and ambush Thanos, now living on an unguarded planet. They plan on retaking the Infinity Stones and using them to reverse the disintegrations, but Thanos reveals he has already destroyed them to prevent further use. An enraged Thor beheads Thanos.

Thanos says, “The universe required correction. After that, the stones served no purpose beyond temptation.”

The most spiritual and most soul stirring line from a ‘villian’. Kudos to Russo Brothers in creating a character who is ‘complete’ even the superheroes in AVENGERS lack this quality of a person who completes the arc of humanity a full circle, a whole.

I doubt whether any superhero would have possessed that deep humanity. After the snap, Thanos in ENDGAME is shown leading a simple life!

Actually it was the war for ‘stones’ Thanos without stones is like Gabbar Singh without fear.

AntMan’s magical escape, the miraculous mouse and the events that followed based on the ‘time travel’ theme served no purpose if Thanos had kept the possession of those stones and ruled the entire universe like any popular villain from any blockbuster operating from his kingdom (den). This Mogambo (read Thanos) would have been very ‘khush’ (happy) in creating the balance, destroying half of the universe and having more dangerous plans for the future. But here he is contended and after delivering, is living a simple peaceful life. Remember the mighty Thanos attained those six stones after battling with those super heroes who we believe where unbeatable.

Imagine the reunited AVENGERS before the miracle of AntMan – Bruce Banner, Steve Rogers, Rocket, Thor, Natasha Romanoff, and James Rhodes reaching Thanos in his Kingdom who is proud of his triumph and is in possession of the stones, the return of the remaining AVENGERS would have been doubtful? The rest have already perished in AVENGERS : INFINITY WAR

Like the ‘soul’ stone, the sacrifice of ‘power’ by the ‘evil’ Thanos is the key to AVENGERS comeback.

Remember, for any miracle or a magic to happen, an ‘action’ is a must. The magical, miraculous end to the AVENGERS in AVENGERS ENDGAME is the result of a ‘soulful’ action by the so-called super villain Thanos.

So is Thanos a hero or a villain? Even if anyone believes him to be the super human if not the super hero then he/she are right. Thanos is the super hero/super human we didn’t notice coming in the crowd of the super heroes. Guys, who form the super heroes had better virtues than Thanos?!.
