Taylor Swift has thrown her support behind the upcoming film “Deadpool & Wolverine,” starring her close friend Ryan Reynolds. On her Instagram story, the 34-year-old singer praised Reynolds’ dedication and effort in making the film, describing it as “an actual joy portal” and a “wild escape from reality.” Swift also playfully referenced Reynolds’ friendly rivalry with co-star Hugh Jackman and shared a humorous group photo with Jackman, Reynolds, Blake Lively, and Shawn Levy.
Swift encouraged her fans to buy tickets for the film, which is set to premiere on July 26, 2024. She ended her post with a light-hearted nod to Reynolds’ character, Wade Wilson, calling him her “godkids’ sperm donor.”
She captioned the photo, “Over the past few years I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic into this film,” she wrote
“He’s created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality, and an abs sandwich. I don’t know how he did it. “But that’s just Hugh for you!”. “These other randoms crashed the photo and we were too polite to ask them to leave.”
Swift went on to say, “Deadpool & Wolverine is out TOMORROW! Here’s where to buy tickets if you like things that are unspeakably awesome,” before concluding with another joke, “Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids’ sperm donor!” she said, referring to Reynolds’ on-screen character.
Speculation has been rife about Blake Lively possibly portraying Lady Deadpool in the movie. This theory gained traction after the final trailer, released before the film’s premiere, showcased a figure with blonde hair in a red and black suit reminiscent of Deadpool’s. Fans believe this could be a hint at Lively’s role in the film.
Swift’s endorsement of “Deadpool & Wolverine” highlights her strong friendship with Reynolds and Lively, a bond that has remained solid since Lively first connected with Swift in 2015. The film’s anticipation is further amplified by Swift’s enthusiastic support and the intriguing hints about potential surprise roles in the movie.
