Denzel Washington almost cried after his son John David Washington showered praises on him.
During an interview with Access for his latest movie ‘The Little Things,’ the Oscar-winning star got teary-eyed when host Sibley Scoles revealed what his eldest son said about him, per TooFab.
While speaking to the publication last month, the ‘Tenet’ actor heaped praises on the legendary actor after his dad was named the greatest actor of the 21st century by The New York Times.
“I think it’s about time,” he told Access at the time. “I think he is one of the greatest to ever do it so it was a very proud moment for our entire family.”
Upon hearing his son’s sweet words, Denzel Washington told the same outlet: “Wow. I’m speechless. I forgot what the question was but I’m speechless.”
“You know, I didn’t know he said that,” a teary-eyed Denzel Washington added.
The proud dad then gave a shoutout to his daughter Olivia, saying “Watch out for his sister. His sister is a great actor. Olivia Washington.”
Denzel Washington who has been married to singer Pauletta Washington for nearly four decades, shares four children with her – John David, 36, Katia, 33, and twins Malcolm and Olivia, 29, per Today.
Back in November 2020, the NY Times dubbed the 66-year-old actor as the “Greatest Actor of the 21st Century (So Far)” who beat a number of fellow Oscar winners including Mahershala Ali, Tilda Swinton, and Joaquin Phoenix, reports TooFab.
Meanwhile, he is gearing up for his upcoming psychological thriller ‘The Little Things’ alongside Oscar-winning duo Rami Malek and Jared Leto. The film is directed by John Lee Hancock.
