Drake recently performed in Amsterdam and shared a touching personal revelation with fans. During the concert, the “God’s Plan” hitmaker told the audience that the Dutch capital holds a special place in his heart — because it’s where his son, Adonis, was conceived.
In a fan-captured video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Drake said, “This is the place. A very special place in my heart. Because this is where my son was conceived. So this is a big show for me… There would be no Adonis if there wasn’t an Amsterdam, so shoutout to y’all.”
A Proud Father to Adonis
Drake shares seven-year-old Adonis with French artist Sophie Brussaux. Adonis speaks both French and English and divides his time between France, where he lives with his mother, and Los Angeles and Toronto, where he stays with Drake.
In November, Drake posted a heartfelt handwritten note from Adonis on Instagram. The sweet message read: “Thank you for giving me such a good life and a good family. I love you, Dad.”
Drake publicly acknowledged fatherhood in June 2018 and later spoke about how freeing it felt to finally share his son with the world. “I just woke up one morning and thought—this is something I want to do. I want to go places and create memories with my son,” he said.
Celebrating Adonis in Style
Earlier this year, Drake threw a ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’-themed birthday party for Adonis’ seventh birthday. Photos shared online showed the duo posing in front of a Bikini Bottom backdrop. Adonis sported a bright yellow tee, while Drake wore a bold orange Fox Racing shirt. The celebration included soccer games, friends, and a lively bouncy castle.
For Drake, being a dad clearly remains his most cherished role.
