Lionsgate’s upcoming thriller Greenland 2: Migration continues the story that began in the 2020 hit Greenland, taking audiences deeper into a post-apocalyptic world. Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, the film releases on January 9, 2026, and runs through April 9, 2026.
The sequel picks up after the devastating comet strike that wiped out most of Earth’s population.
The story follows John Garrity (played by Gerard Butler), his wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), and their son Nathan (Roman Griffin Davis) as they leave the safety of their underground bunker in Greenland to face what’s left of the outside world.
Their journey is not just a fight for survival but also a search for hope, and a place they can once again call home.
