Hailey Bieber Calls ICE Detention Of 5-Year-Old “Disgusting” After Viral Minnesota Incident

Hailey Bieber reacts to the controversial detention of a five-year-old boy by ICE agents in Minnesota, posting her condemnation amid national outrage.

Hailey Bieber has publicly reacted to a story that rocked social media this week, after a five-year-old boy was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minnesota. The incident happened when the child, identified by school officials as Liam Conejo Ramos, was returning home from preschool with his father, and a photograph of the boy wearing a backpack and winter hat standing beside federal agents sparked widespread condemnation.

Hailey reposted a story about the moment on her Instagram, simply writing “Disgusting”, joining other celebrities voicing their disapproval of how the situation unfolded and how it looked to the public.

According to school authorities and witnesses, ICE officers arrived at the home in Columbia Heights, a Minneapolis suburb, and took Liam and his father into custody outside their driveway. School officials say that when the officers instructed the young boy to knock on the door, other adults offered to care for him but were reportedly refused. Some local leaders described the actions as traumatic and alarming.

Federal authorities have presented a different account, stating the operation was focused on arresting the boy’s father, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, and that the child was not a target of the enforcement. A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said that the father fled on foot and the agents stayed with the child for safety reasons while the arrest was made. They were later transported together to a family detention facility in Texas.

The family’s lawyer and school leaders have challenged some aspects of the government’s narrative, saying the parents are legally seeking asylum and the child’s detention raised serious concerns about the treatment of minors in immigration enforcement.

Hailey’s reaction adds to a chorus of public figures speaking out against the image and reports from Minneapolis, underscoring the emotional impact the story has had on many.
