Hollywood legend Johnny Depp is coming back to the big screen with Day Drinker, his first big project since his very publicized courtroom battles with former wife Amber Heard. Lionsgate has released a first-look photo of Depp in the movie, his return to the Hollywood limelight.
Reuniting with Penélope Cruz
Directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, Snow White), Day Drinker reunites Depp and Penélope Cruz for the fourth time. Their previous collaborations are Blow, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Murder on the Orient Express. They are joined in the cast by Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline, as well as Manu Rios, Aron Piper, Juan Diego Botto, and Anika Boyle.
A Thrilling Plot Set at Sea
The movie revolves around a bartender working on a private yacht (Cline) who is visited by an enigmatic guest (Depp). Through the development of their relationship, they get involved with a perilous criminal figure (Cruz) and discover secrets that bond them in unpredictable ways.

A High-Profile Production
Day Drinker is on set in Spain and is produced by Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, producers on the John Wick franchise. Rounding out producers are Adam Kolbrenner (The Tomorrow War, Free Guy) and writer Zach Dean. Lionsgate and 30WEST are offering the film with several high-level executive producers boarded, including the director himself, Marc Webb.
