Kim Kardashian received unexpected news about her brain health during a recent visit with celebrity physician Dr. Daniel Amen, as shown in the November 27 episode of The Kardashians. What began as a routine check-in quickly turned serious when Dr. Amen revealed that parts of her brain were functioning at a lower level than expected. Kardashian, 45, attended the appointment with Scott Disick, joking beforehand that she had a “beautiful brain.”
Dr. Amen reassured her that her scan showed no indicators of Alzheimer’s disease and that she did not exhibit signs of anxiety or depression. In fact, he described her as unusually positive. However, the mood shifted when he pointed to several “holes” in the brain scan—markers that he said indicated areas of low activity. The reduced functioning was most evident in the frontal region of the brain, which is responsible for planning, stress management, and decision-making.
“It would be harder to handle stress when this area isn’t as active as it should be,” Dr. Amen explained. Kardashian disagreed, pushing back on the idea that stress had impaired her functioning.
He suggested that prolonged pressure could be the cause, referencing her demanding preparation for the California bar exam and the emotional strain surrounding her divorce from Kanye West. He recommended steps she could take to ease the long-term stress on her brain. Kardashian, acknowledging her packed schedule, said she needed a plan as soon as possible because she had “things to do this summer.”

This episode followed another medical revelation from the show’s November 20 broadcast, in which Kardashian told her sister Kourtney that a Prenuvo scan had detected an aneurysm that had reportedly been present for “years.” Doctors confirmed it had appeared in several earlier scans.
For now, the series is focused on Kardashian’s next steps as she navigates monitoring the aneurysm and addressing Dr. Amen’s concerns about her frontal lobe activity.
