Labrinth Slams Euphoria in Cryptic Post, Says “I’m Done With This Industry”

Euphoria composer Labrinth shocks fans after posting an explosive message online, saying “F*** Euphoria” and hinting at retirement from the music industry.

British musician and producer Labrinth has stunned fans after posting a blunt message on Instagram that appears to distance himself from the hit HBO series Euphoria and even hint at his retirement from the music industry. The composer, who has been closely associated with the show since its first season, shared a cryptic statement late Thursday night that quickly spread across social media. “I’m done with this industry,” Labrinth wrote in the post, before directing strong language toward both his record label and the HBO series that helped define his recent career. “F*** Columbia. Double f*** Euphoria. I’m out. Thank you and good night,” the message read. Labrinth is currently signed to Columbia Records.

The musician posted the statement without any caption or additional explanation, leaving fans and industry insiders speculating about what may have prompted the sudden outburst. Representatives for Labrinth and HBO have not publicly clarified the situation so far.

Labrinth has been a major creative force behind Euphoria’s sound since the show premiered in 2019. His atmospheric score became one of the defining elements of the series and earned him significant acclaim. He even won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the track “All for Us,” which became closely associated with the show’s main character Rue Bennett.

Despite his explosive post, Labrinth was recently involved in the upcoming third season of the series. HBO had announced last year that he would return to compose the music alongside legendary film composer Hans Zimmer. The long awaited third season of Euphoria, created by Sam Levinson, is scheduled to premiere on April 12 and is expected to feature a time jump that takes the characters beyond their high school years.

The new season will once again star Zendaya as Rue Bennett, alongside returning cast members Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow. New additions to the cast include singer Rosalía, former NFL star Marshawn Lynch and actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

Labrinth was also recently seen attending the Balenciaga Winter 2026 fashion show in Paris earlier this week, where Levinson teased footage from the upcoming season of Euphoria. The timing of his post has only added to the confusion surrounding his relationship with the show.

For now, it remains unclear whether Labrinth’s statement signals a genuine departure from the industry or simply a moment of frustration. But if the composer truly walks away, it would mark a surprising exit for one of the most influential musical voices behind modern television.
