Patrick Schwarzenegger is pushing back against critics who claim his role in The White Lotus Season 3 was handed to him due to his famous last name rather than his hard work. The 31-year-old actor, son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, recently spoke to The Sunday Times on February 23, expressing frustration over being judged solely for his lineage rather than his dedication to the craft.
Defending His Hard Work
Schwarzenegger acknowledged the common perception but emphasized the years of effort he has put into building his acting career. “I know there are people who’ll say I only got this role because of who my dad is. They’re not seeing that I’ve had 10 years of acting classes… worked on my characters for hours on end or the hundreds of rejected auditions I’ve been on.”

Despite moments of frustration, Schwarzenegger remains grateful for his upbringing and the values instilled by his parents. “Of course, it’s frustrating, and you can get boxed in… but that’s a small moment. I would never trade my life with anyone. I’m very fortunate to have the life and family that I have.”
A Decade-Long Acting Journey
Schwarzenegger began acting at age 10 in The Benchwarmers (2006) and later balanced business studies with roles in Grown Ups 2 (2013), Scream Queens, and Gen V. His family, being huge fans of The White Lotus, encouraged him to audition for Season 3, which he successfully landed in 2023.
