Milly Alcock’s Supergirl is Unstoppable! DCU Movie Teaser Trailer Sparks Frenzy!

Supergirl soars into the DCU with Milly Alcock in a gritty new origin story as the first teaser unveils her cosmic quest for justice and revenge.

The long-awaited preliminary teaser trailer for Supergirl has now been released, offering fans their most thrilling glimpse yet of what has been touted as a major new development in this new DC Universe. Scheduled for release in theaters everywhere on June 26, 2026, it represents no less than a literally revolutionary major character-centric effort in this new DCU as headed up by fresh brain trust members James Gunn and Peter Safran. Written by Ana Nogueira and directed by Craig Gillespie, it has a fresh take on Supergirl as planned.

In this teaser, Milly Alcock takes over as Kara Zor-El, with a fiery and passionate performance as Supergirl. Unlike most other Supergirls, this Supergirl begins her journey on a far-off planet. Here, she meets Ruthye Marye Knoll, played by new actress Eve Ridley. Ruthye seeks revenge on ruthless Krem of Yellow Hills, played by actor Matthias Schoenaerts, setting up a cosmic road trip adventure filled with revenge, trauma, and drama.

The cast also has a lot of heavy-hitters, including David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Kara’s father; Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze; and in a surprise many fans are still reeling from, Jason Momoa has joined the DCU as Lobo, a notorious bounty hunter from space.

The film takes cues from a critically acclaimed comic book series, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, from DC Comics, written by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow revolves around a lost Supergirl who has been traveling in search of a reason for her existence. She has lost her home plan-et and also finds herself in a shadow of her renowned cousin, Superman, but then Ruthye comes into her life and asks for her assistance in avenging her ruined world.

Alongside Krypto the Superdog and Ruthye, a determined young girl, Kara sets out on an epic journey through space that challenges her to take on her identity, her anger, and her fate. Thus, this adaptation also brings with it a promise of a rich and complex story that has long been admired in the comic series.

With breathtaking world-building, exciting character interaction, and Alcock’s amazing debut as the new Supergirl in the DCU, it seems like a lot of expectations are being set. Supergirl looks like it will be a very ambitious and film-worthy entry in the DCU lineup.
