Kelley Mack, best known for her role as Addy in The Walking Dead, passed away on August 2 at the age of 33 after a courageous battle with glioma of the central nervous system. Her family confirmed the news on August 5 via a touching obituary and a heartfelt Instagram post on her account. “It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley,” the post read, accompanied by a single image of the actress. “Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go.” Her family shared that she passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
Born Kelley Klebenow in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mack rose to fame with her breakout role in Season 9 of The Walking Dead. She also appeared in Chicago Med as Penelope Jacobs and had a guest role in FOX’s 9-1-1. In film, she portrayed Alice in Broadcast Signal Intrusion and Wilda in Delicate Arch.
Mack’s talent extended beyond acting. She worked as a producer on five projects and lent her voice to commercials and animation, notably as a voice match for Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy in the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. She also appeared in national commercials for brands like Dr. Pepper, Chick-fil-A, Ross, and Rakuten, sometimes alongside her mother, Kristen.
A 2014 graduate of Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film, Mack discovered her passion for storytelling as a child when she received a video camera as a birthday gift.
Described as warm, creative, and deeply supportive, Mack cherished her time with family and friends. She will appear posthumously in an upcoming Universal Pictures release as a character named Ricky.
She is survived by her parents Kristen and Lindsay Klebenow, siblings Kathryn and Parker, grandparents Lois and Larry, and her boyfriend Logan.
