Singer and actor Sabrina Carpenter has surprised fans with a completely different look on the cover of Perfect magazine’s latest issue. Known for her blonde hair, she appeared almost unrecognizable as she wore a sleek black wig with straight bangs.
The new look was styled to give a darker and more dramatic feel. She paired the hairstyle with black nail paint and bold smudged eyeliner, creating a gothic inspired appearance. The photos were taken by Bryce Anderson and styled by Katie Grand.
In another cover from the same issue, Sabrina appeared in a softer look. She wore voluminous strawberry blonde curls and a pink dress designed by Marc Jacobs, decorated with crystal details. The magazine shared multiple versions of her covers, showing different styles and moods.
In her interview with Marc Jacobs, Sabrina spoke about her journey with fashion. She shared how her height affected her early experiences. “I’m the shortest person ever. So my initial relationship with fashion was sort of in distress,” she said. “The day I realized what tailoring is changed my life.”
She also talked about how fashion can affect a person’s emotions and confidence. “I see it truly as art, as something that can make you feel so self-conscious or it can make you feel so incredibly confident that you’re not even aware of what is on your body,” she said.
Sabrina explained that the shoot allowed her to try styles she had not explored before. “We got to really try some looks that I’ve never tried before. Lots of wigs, lots of different make-up for me, lots of shapes that maybe I wouldn’t normally wear,” she told Jacobs.
Although fans are used to seeing her as a blonde, this is not the first time she has experimented with darker hair. She had previously tried a different hair colour for the film Nola and also wore dark wigs during her appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Sabrina is now preparing for her upcoming performance at Coachella. Talking about it, she said, “It’s the most ambitious show I’ve ever done.”
