Selena Gomez’s highly anticipated 12 Days of Really Rare Stuff giveaway, which was meant to celebrate the release of her new album I Said I Love You First with fiancé Benny Blanco, took an unexpected turn on its first day. The giveaway involved Selena offering 12 of her most emotionally valuable possessions to her fans, but a technical glitch on the website created chaos and confusion.
The B-Ring Glitch
The giveaway began with Selena putting up her iconic B-ring, a custom-made diamond piece by Jacquie Aiche worth $3,000. The ring, which Selena famously wore in the picture where she introduced Benny as her boyfriend, was meant to be sold for its actual value. However, a website malfunction caused the ring to be listed for just $12, which immediately caught the attention of Selena’s devoted fans, or “Selenators.” Fans rushed to purchase the ring, and the glitch allowed multiple people to complete the transaction for the same item. An insider confirmed to TMZ that despite the chaos, Selena only sold the ring to one fan. The glitch was due to a technical issue, not intentional.

In response to the confusion, Selena’s record label, Interscope Records, issued an apology and assured fans that they would be compensated with “fun items.” After the rocky start, Day 2 of the giveaway went smoothly, with Selena offering a Selena Grace Handbag from her collaboration with Coach.
