Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift have long been celebrated as one of Hollywood’s most iconic best friend duos. Their deep bond, which has lasted over 16 years, began during their teenage years—when both were dating members of the Jonas Brothers.
Friendship Born from Teenage Romances
During her recent appearance on the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast, Selena opened up about how her friendship with Taylor began. Recalling their first meeting in 2007, Selena said she was 15 while Taylor was 18, and both were dating Jonas brothers at the time—Selena was with Nick Jonas, and Taylor was dating Joe Jonas.
“Taylor and I dated the Jonas Brothers,” she laughed, adding, “We didn’t know what we were doing… but it was cute. The best thing we got out of those relationships was each other.”
A Constant Through Life’s Ups and Downs
Selena went on to describe Taylor as her rock, saying the singer has stood by her side through various phases of her life, both good and bad. Their bond has only deepened over the years, despite growing fame and life changes.
