Universal Pictures released the full trailer of How to Train Your Dragon surfaced before the movie hits theatres on June 13, 2025. The live-action remake is based on DreamWorks Animation’s hit 2010 film, which in itself was inspired by Cressida Cowell’s popular book series.
Mason Thames will play Hiccup while Nico Parker plays the role of Astrid in the new How to Train Your Dragon, giving life to the two iconic characters from the original film. The cast also comprises Gerard Butler, Nick Frost, and Julian Dennison in key stages.

Dean DeBlois is directing this brave venture, having worked with Chris Sanders in co-directing direction for the original 2010 animated classic. DeBlois also serves as producer, alongside Marc Platt and Adam Siegel.
The trailer reveals a rare relationship between Hiccup and Toothless-the Night Fury-with whom he secretly bonds. In one touching moment, Hiccup admits, “I am the first Viking who wouldn’t kill a dragon.” Astrid, initially shocked but subsequently impressed, states, “First to ride one, though.
