The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) nominations are here, and it’s a big year for K-pop—especially for BLACKPINK’s Rosé, who earned multiple nods across major categories. With a total of seven nominations, Rosé tied with Sabrina Carpenter as the second most-nominated female artist this year, trailing only Lady Gaga, who leads with 12.
Rosé’s duet with Bruno Mars, Apt., has emerged as a major contender this award season. The song scored nominations in six categories: Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Pop, Best Direction, and Best Art Direction, along with a seventh for Best Visual Effects. Her solo track Toxic Till the End also landed her a nomination for Best K-pop, where all other BLACKPINK members are also nominated.
In the Best K-pop category, Jisoo (Earthquake), Jennie (Like Jennie), and Lisa (Born Again featuring Doja Cat and Raye) will go head-to-head with fellow K-pop acts like BTS’ Jimin (Who), aespa (Whiplash), Stray Kids (Chk Chk Boom), and Rosé herself. Rising global girl group Katseye also received a nod here.

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ Die with a Smile appears alongside Apt. in several categories, setting up tough competition for both collaborative tracks.
Other notable mentions include Sabrina Carpenter’s Manchild, Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather, and Ed Sheeran’s Sapphire, each dominating multiple categories like Song of the Year, Best Pop, and Best Direction.
