You Won’t Believe What Cardi B Did on Stage! Microphone-Throwing Incident Sparks Lawsuit

Rapper Cardi B is facing a lawsuit from a concertgoer who claims the artist injured her by throwing a microphone during a performance at a Las Vegas beach club in July 2023. The incident, which occurred in extremely hot weather and was captured on video, quickly went viral online.

Fan Alleges Unexpected and Violent Reaction
According to Billboard, the plaintiff referred to as Jane Doe in legal documents claims Cardi B had encouraged the crowd to splash water on her to help cool off. Following that request, several attendees, including Jane, threw drinks toward the stage. However, Jane alleges that Cardi B reacted violently, suddenly throwing a microphone directly at her without warning.

“Plaintiff, acting in the environment Cardi B created, splashed a small portion of her drink like many others,” the lawsuit states. “Cardi B then forcefully threw her microphone at the plaintiff,” allegedly causing physical injury and emotional distress.

Emotional Fallout and Legal Action
Jane Doe says she experienced online harassment after the clip of the incident went viral. Her emotional distress worsened when the same microphone was later auctioned off for $99,000 (approximately ₹85 lakh).

She is also suing the Las Vegas beach club where the event occurred, accusing the venue of failing to ensure audience safety. The lawsuit further points out that Cardi had reportedly thrown a mic at a DJ just a day prior, suggesting a pattern of behavior.

In a public statement, Jane said, “What many saw as a joke has had a deep impact on my mental health and quality of life. I’m seeking justice to show no one is above the law.”

Cardi B’s attorney, Drew Findling, dismissed the lawsuit as a “money grab,” noting the police and DA had previously closed the case for lack of evidence.
