ILLIT Drops Korean Version Of ‘I Got Your Back’ With JISOO And MOMOKA

ILLIT has released the Korean version of I Got Your Back featuring JISOO and MOMOKA of HANA, following the song’s success on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.

Global K pop group ILLIT has released the Korean version of its song “I Got Your Back (Feat. JISOO, MOMOKA of HANA) (Korean Ver.)”. The digital single was released at midnight KST and brings a Korean language version of the track to listeners. “I Got Your Back” was originally released in July as the lead single from ILLIT’s 2nd Japanese Single. The song was also used as the main soundtrack for ABEMA’s original drama The Vacation Principle. Following its release, the track performed strongly on Japanese music charts and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.

The new Korean version keeps the upbeat sound of the original while presenting the song in Korean. The track features a lively rock influenced sound built around guitar riffs, drums and bass. ILLIT’s five members deliver energetic vocals, while the song’s rhythm and performance focus on the message of being there for someone during difficult moments.

The group explained that the lyrics and emotions behind the song were important to them while recording the Korean version.

“‘I Got Your Back’ reflects our honest thoughts and emotions, so we focused on conveying that sincerity through our vocals. While it’s the same song, singing it in Korean gives it an entirely new feel.”

They added, “We hope listeners take comfort in the message that ‘you are not alone,’ and also enjoy ILLIT’s powerful rock energy.”

JISOO and MOMOKA from the J pop group HANA have also returned for the Korean version. Both artists were involved in the original Japanese release and have written their own rap sections for the new Korean track. Their contribution gives the Korean version an additional rap element while continuing the collaboration between the artists.

ILLIT also recently performed at KCON LA on August 15, where the group presented its signature “ILLIT core” style. The performance came as the group continues its international activities.

The members are now preparing for more dates on their sold out ‘PRESS START︎’ tour. The upcoming schedule includes performances in Hong Kong, followed by encore shows in Incheon and Chiba later this year.

With the release of the Korean version, ILLIT has expanded “I Got Your Back” to another audience while continuing the song’s story across its Japanese and Korean releases.
