The countdown is finally over for Indian fans of Japanese pop group JO1. On Friday, September 19, JO1 members Issei Mamehara (Mame) and Shosei Ohira (Shosei) arrived in Mumbai, greeted warmly and traditionally desi-style by their host team and eager fans.
Smiling from ear to ear, the pair waved for the cameras and thanked fans as they landed on Indian ground for the first time. In a moment that was sure to win hearts, Mame and Shosei stopped to give a polite “Namaste,” and were garlanded with bright marigold flowers. Fans thronging at the airport were able to get selfies and post their enthusiasm on social media.
For their arrival, the two kept it effortlessly stylish — Mame in a black T-shirt and relaxed jeans, and Shosei in a crisp white cardigan paired with blue denim. As part of their brief visit, the pair is expected to explore Mumbai’s iconic landmarks, including Marine Drive and the Gateway of India, according to Pinkvilla. They will also take part in cultural events and possibly meet key figures from the Indian entertainment industry.
