Joe Jonas altered the lyrics of ‘Cake by the Ocean’ after se*xual assault allegations against Sean Combs

Joe Jonas has joined a growing list of celebrities who are distancing themselves from Sean “Diddy” Combs amid troubling s*xual assault allegations. During a recent Jonas Brothers concert in Lyon, France, Jonas subtly altered the lyrics of his hit song Cake by the Ocean to omit a reference to Diddy. The original lyrics, “I’ll be Diddy, you’ll be Naomi,” were changed to “I’ll be watching you be Naomi,” in response to the accusations against Combs.

Fans quickly noticed the change after a TikTok video of the performance went viral. Many praised Jonas for his decision, with one comment, receiving nearly 3 million likes, noting how some listeners hadn’t even realized Diddy was mentioned in the original version.

This follows a similar action taken by singer Kesha in May, after Combs faced his initial wave of s*xual assault lawsuits. During a surprise Coachella performance, Kesha changed the lyric from her hit Tik Tok, “wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy,” to “wake up in the morning like f**k P. Diddy.” When later asked about it, Kesha confirmed the change would be permanent, stating that she stands by her decision and her personal integrity.

Combs, who has long been a powerful figure in the music industry, is currently facing serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking, and remains in custody following his September 16 arrest at the Metropolitan Detention Center.
