Joe Jonas is clearing up the record after a backstage clip during the Jonas Brothers’ JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown tour fueled out-of-control speculation online. The 36-year-old musician was spotted in the footage rubbing his nose with a black cloth, examining himself in the mirror, and trying to clean up. Some fans quickly assumed the worst, accusing him of snorting cocaine on tour.
Now, Joe has spoken directly to the rumors in an interview with Esquire, denying decisively any use of drugs. “I’ve never had anything to do with cocaine in my life,” he said. “But if I had, I think I’d be a little more sly about it than doing it onstage.” His statement was clear and characteristically funny.
Joe had even teased the rumor online before the interview. When a fan shared the viral clip again, he retorted facetiously, “Lol you never had a booger?”—dismissing the charges with humor.

During the same interview, Joe spoke candidly about life after his divorce from actress Sophie Turner. The couple wed in a spontaneous Las Vegas ceremony in May 2019 and have two daughters together — Willa (born 2020) and Delphine (born 2022). Their divorce was finalized in September 2024 following months of publicity.
Looking back at his life now, Joe said his grueling tour schedule does not allow time for dating. “Five shows in a row doesn’t really leave much time to meet someone for coffee,” he confessed. Though he’s not on dating apps, he added that he sometimes meets people on Instagram or TikTok.
