Nicki Minaj is facing legal trouble after a concert production company filed a lawsuit alleging that the rapper failed to pay $275,000 in outstanding fees related to her live performances.
According to a report by Billboard, the lawsuit was filed in New York by 24/7 Productions (USA) Inc., which claims it has been trying to recover the unpaid amount for nearly two years. The fees are tied to production work carried out for iHeartRadio’s 2023 Jingle Ball concerts, as well as additional services connected to Minaj’s album Pink Friday 2.
In the legal complaint, the company alleges that it covered production expenses after receiving approval from Minaj’s team through a detailed, itemized budget. The understanding, according to the filing, was that these costs would later be reimbursed.
However, the company claims that despite repeated attempts to follow up, no payment has been made. The lawsuit states that the defendants have “inexplicably failed to pay any portion” of the outstanding amount and that the only responses received over time have been vague assurances that the matter would be looked into.
The situation becomes more notable given that 24/7 Productions was reportedly hired again by Minaj for her 2024 Pink Friday 2 tour, which spanned dozens of shows. According to the filing, this indicated satisfaction with their work, even as the earlier invoices allegedly remained unpaid.
The production company argues that it provided services at Minaj’s request and incurred significant expenses while delivering those services, without receiving compensation in return. The lawsuit also claims that Minaj’s team had previously acknowledged the debt and indicated that payment would be processed.
As of now, representatives for Minaj have not publicly responded to the allegations.
The case is still developing, and no court ruling has been made yet.
