In the video, Udit Narayan appears to be clicking selfies with the female fans. He suddenly leans in and kisses a young woman on her lips, and it visibly shocks her. Another clip from the same event shows him kissing several women on the cheeks while he interacts with them. The incidents have caused outrage and have opened people to questioning his actions and demand explanations.

Soon after, the videos became public, and social media was flooded with reactions, especially on X (formerly Twitter). If some users called him unbelievable, others described the singer’s gestures as inappropriate and disrespectful. He’s taken nicknames like “Serial Kisser Udit” when compared with Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, who is famous for his kissing scenes in films.

As the critique pours in, Udit Narayan has defended it. On being asked in an interview, “Not at all! Why should I ever regret? Anyone could ever imagine this from my voice? It is not cheap and confidential. I’m pure-hearted, and I feel sorry for people who feel the need to see some crap.
