Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, Sky Force has been doing the rounds since its release. The film, starring Akshay Kumar and debutante Veer Pahariya, also features Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan. Aided by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, the aerial action thriller fared well on its opening weekend but faces some tough competition as the movie that would see the coming of actor Shahid Kapoor and actress Pooja Hegde, titled Deva, scheduled to release on January 31, 2025. Sky Force performed well at the box office initially, with help from discounted ticket offers.

The film collected ₹64 crore on its first weekend, which looks promising in terms of audience interest. Collections decreased during the weekdays, and at the end of six days, it stood at ₹82.25 crore. Now, the film is walking on wafer-thin ice as it enters its second week, prepared for the jolt of Deva’s release.
For Akshay Kumar, Sky Force turned out to be a much-needed relief after the series of box-office flops in 2024: Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira, and Khel Khel Mein. Its performance so far in the initial weeks of 2025 leaves much hope for his new arrivals like the much-awaited Housefull 5 and Jolly LLB 3.
Despite the weekday slowdown, Sky Force has received positive word-of-mouth, with audiences praising its thrilling action sequences and patriotic theme. However, its real test begins now as it competes against Deva, a major action-packed release that could affect its second-week earnings.
With Sky Force still going strong, all eyes are on its box-office trajectory. Will it continue to keep its momentum ahead of Deva, or will Shahid Kapoor’s actioner take over? The next few days will prove crucial in deciding its fate.
