Wednesday woes! Crazxy’s Box Office struggles continue, movie offers only hope

Sohum Shah’s highly anticipated film Crazxy made its theatrical debut on February 28, 2025, marking his return to the big screen after a long hiatus. The intense thriller, directed by Girish Kohli, features Shah as Dr. Abhimanyu Sood, a determined surgeon fighting to save his daughter from a kidnapping. The film has completed six days in cinemas, and despite a 5-10 percent drop in its earnings on the first Wednesday, it has maintained a decent hold at the box office.

The movie earned Rs 45 lakh on Tuesday, its fifth day, and continues to show resilience at the ticket counter. The release was also bolstered by a Buy-One-Get-One (BOGO) offer, extended through Wednesday, aiming to draw in more viewers. While this offer may boost mid-week numbers, it remains to be seen how much of an impact it will have against other parallel releases, including Chhaava.

Audience and Word of Mouth

Despite facing stiff competition from Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which has been performing exceptionally well, Crazxy has received positive feedback from its audience, particularly fans of Sohum Shah’s past work. The actor is widely appreciated for his role in the 2018 film Tumbbad, which saw a successful re-release last year. Like Tumbbad, Crazxy also seems to be carving a niche audience, with those who enjoy intense thrillers showing particular interest.

Looking Ahead

Though Crazxy is performing better than other recent releases like Superboys of Malegaon, its overall performance remains relatively low. With 2-3 weeks needed to improve its numbers at the box office, the film’s longevity will largely depend on audience turnout and the effectiveness of ongoing promotional strategies.
