Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par: Box Office Collection Takes a Hit on Day 5, But Film Crosses Rs 67 Crore Mark

Aamir Khan’s latest release Sitaare Zameen Par witnessed a steep decline in its box office performance on Day 5. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film earned approximately ₹0.13 crore across India on Tuesday. This brings the film’s total net collection in India to around ₹67.09 crore so far.

Strong Weekend Start
The film opened on Friday with a solid ₹10.7 crore, with the Hindi version contributing ₹10.6 crore, and Tamil and Telugu versions earning ₹0.05 crore each. Saturday saw a remarkable 88.79% jump, collecting ₹20.2 crore in total. The upward trend continued on Sunday with ₹27.25 crore, making it the film’s highest single-day collection.

Weekday Drop Hits Momentum
However, collections began to slide on Monday, with the film earning an estimated ₹8.88 crore—a 67.41% drop from Sunday. Tuesday’s earnings fell further to just ₹0.13 crore, indicating a sharp decline in momentum. Occupancy rates also dropped significantly, falling from over 54% on Sunday to just 13–18% on Monday and even lower on Tuesday.

About the Film
Directed by R.S. Prasanna and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par is a sports comedy-drama starring Aamir Khan, Genelia Deshmukh, Brijendra Kala, and Dolly Ahluwalia. The film is an official remake of the Spanish hit Campeones, and follows a disgraced basketball coach who trains a team of neurodivergent adults as part of community service.

Box Office Comparison
Despite the midweek drop, the film has already outperformed Aamir’s previous release Laal Singh Chaddha, which ended its India run at ₹61.36 crore. It is also competing well against current box office titles like Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2 and Sunny Deol’s Jaat.
