‘A Minecraft Movie’ is on a record-breaking spree, heading toward the $300 million domestic mark, becoming the first film of 2025 to achieve this milestone. As of Wednesday, the fantasy-adventure film has grossed an impressive $296.8 million in the US, with a strong $5.5 million haul on its second Wednesday alone. This marks the third-highest second Wednesday for an April release, behind only Avengers: Endgame and Infinity War.
Directed by Jared Hess, the PG-rated film brings Mojang Studios’ iconic game to life, following four misfits who are pulled into the pixelated Minecraft universe. With help from expert crafter Steve (voiced by Jack Black), the group must save the crumbling world before returning to reality. Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, and Sebastian Hansen round out the talented cast.
