Tom Cruise, one of the most celebrated international stars in India, is set to return to the big screen with Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, the highly anticipated final chapter in the iconic action franchise. Unlike the traditional Friday release, the film is opting for a rare Saturday release on May 17 in India, and the response to early ticket sales has been exceptional.
Advance Booking Shows Strong Momentum
As of Saturday 3 PM, the film has already sold 7,800 tickets in leading national cinema chains PVRInox and Cinepolis just for its opening day. For the opening weekend (Saturday and Sunday combined), advance sales stand at 11,000 tickets, with significant surges expected over the next few days. The film is tracking ahead of its predecessor, Dead Reckoning, which had opened to ₹12.25 crore in India. If the current geopolitical situation remains stable, The Final Reckoning could open above ₹15 crore, possibly touching the ₹20 crore mark.

Cruise’s Star Power Remains Unmatched in India
Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt remains a beloved character in India. Given that this is likely the final film in the franchise, anticipation is sky-high. Dead Reckoning had sold 1.25 lakh tickets in national chains ahead of its mid-week release. The final film is targeting at least 1.75 lakh ticket sales in the same space, provided theaters remain fully operational across the country.
