Lincia Rosario who was recently featured in the music video Faaslein is already an outstanding emcee who is known for bringing her buoyant energy and charming aura to the stage. After 10 years of a successful emceeing career, Lincia is now testing her skills in acting. She made her debut as the face of Bajaj Chetak electric scotty and now is covering the spotlight for her music video, Faaslein.
We got in touch with her to find out about her first project experience, and here’s what Lincia says.
How do you feel that your first music video has been finally released and people are gracing it with love?
I am at the top of the world. I feel so blessed that I got the opportunity to work on this music video. Working on this project was sheer serendipity.
You have an illustrious profile as an emcee. So, how did your fondness for acting grow?
As an emcee, I’ve done shows across the globe in different genres. And as an artist I always like to push boundaries, experiment, do something new. The acting bug hit me during COVID. Since I had time in my hand I started doing monologues, did an acting course with Jeffery Goldberg and Neeraj Kabi sir. As an actor I loved the fact that I would get to play these different characters other than Lincia. It’s just a different high. The pursuit of finding something different in me is something that I was in awe of and acting ticked all the boxes for me.
Since Faaslein is your first music video, can you narrate your experience?
It was a last-minute shoot. I remember meeting the director, Will Hazell, and my first shot was a dance sequence. I was a bundle of nerves. I had no idea what I was going to do, but it turned out so well. It took me some time to understand the plot because we weren’t shooting it chronologically. But I had a blast with the crew. It was amazing and everyone was so supportive.
What were your expectations of the song when you first heard it?
My heart was throbbing when I finally saw the video. It was a moment that I can’t explain. I loved the music. Ankkit’s voice is so melodious, innocent, and childlike.. I didn’t expect my video to go viral. It’s incredible to see our video doing phenomenally well. It’s already had more than 7 lakh views in a day and I’m very proud of the work we all put together.
Can you tell us more about your future plans? What else are you storing in your bag?
There is something coming up down south that I can’t reveal. Soon I will let you all know more! It is happening in a feature film space. In terms of anchoring, I will continue with the fine work that I do.
