After the intense drop of Alice in Borderland Season 3 on September 25, the fans are all wanting to know one thing: Will there be a Season 4?
The Japanese live-action thriller, which draws from Haro Aso’s manga, keeps viewers in suspense with its combination of high-stakes survival battles and psychological drama set against a mysterious parallel universe. Season 3 explored the deeper emotional trajectories and new mysteries and left fans gratified and wanting more.
While Season 3 of Alice in Borderland returned Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) to the real world—pregnant with child—it also left fans with a huge cliffhanger. The series of earthquakes across the globe, rattling cities from Tokyo to Los Angeles and Paris, suggested that the mortal games of the Borderland may now spread beyond Japan. The last scene, introducing a waitress by the name Alice based in Los Angeles, fueled speculations regarding an overseas expansion or even spin-off.

As things stand, Netflix has not confirmed the renewal of the series for a fourth season. The company normally analyzes viewership and audience reception before it has confirmed sequels. Nevertheless, indications point toward possible continuation.
Director Shinsuke Sato has expressed interest in adapting Alice in Border Road, a spin-off manga with a new cast and storyline. Meanwhile, both Yamazaki and Tsuchiya have shown excitement about continuing their roles. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Yamazaki said he’d be “keen to return,” while Tsuchiya teased a more familial storyline with Usagi’s pregnancy playing a central role.
Season 3 resumed three years after Arisu and Usagi first escaped the Borderland, with Usagi drawn back by a chance to catch a glimpse of her deceased father. Although the final episode provided closure on a personal level, the worldwide shaking and fresh faces imply that the story of the Borderland is only just beginning.
