Even as his much-awaited web series on the life of Mahatma Gandhi awaits release, Hansal Mehta has already set his sights on another ambitious project. PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned that the Scam 1992 filmmaker is next directing a high-stakes business drama series for Netflix India, starring Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma in the lead roles.
A Business Rivalry Like Never Before
Kapoor and Varma will portray fierce business rivals in this big-budget drama series, which is expected to be similar to the popular American hit show, Billions. The narrative will revolve around a dramatic showdown between two powerhouses in the financial sector, with each employing their formidable intellect, influence, and resources to outdo the other. This project is touted to be India’s first-of-its-kind web series delving into the cutthroat world of finance, promising a grand tale of ambition, greed, and rivalry.
Stellar Production Team and Writers
The series will be produced by Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment, known for acclaimed projects such as Airlift, Chhorii, Jalsa, and Ram Setu, as well as web series like Breathe: Into the Shadows and Hush Hush. Written by Niren Bhatt (Stree 2, Munjya, Bhediya), Nikhil Nair (Serious Men, Dahan), and Ankur Pathak, the show is set to commence production in May, with filming planned across Mumbai, London, and Dubai.
Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma’s Streaming Success
This project marks Anil Kapoor’s return to Netflix following previous collaborations on AK vs AK (2020) and Thar (2022). For Hansal Mehta, it will be his second collaboration with the streamer after the success of the crime drama series Scoop (2023). Vijay Varma, who has starred in multiple Netflix projects including She, A Suitable Boy, Darlings, and Murder Mubarak, further solidifies his presence on the platform with this new venture.

Kapoor has a packed schedule, currently shooting for Suresh Triveni’s Amazon Prime film, Subedar, produced by Abundantia Entertainment. He is also set to feature in Yash Raj Films’ spy universe film War 2 and Alpha, slated for release on Independence Day and Christmas 2025, respectively. Meanwhile, Vijay Varma will next be seen in Nagraj Manjule’s Amazon Prime series, Matka King.
