Disney+ Hotstar has dropped the highly anticipated trailer for the twin drama series Bad Cop, set to stream exclusively on the platform starting June 21, 2024. Produced by Fremantle India, directed by Aditya Datt, and written by Rensil D’Silva, Bad Cop promises to be a mass entertainer. The series is an Indian reimagining of RTL’s original German drama of the same name.

The trailer for the new show, which premiered on Friday, has generated significant buzz with its action-packed sequences and compelling storyline. The show features prominent actors including filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who portrays a gangster named Kazbe Mama, Harleen Sethi as a dedicated police officer, and Saurabh Sachdeva, known for his role in “Animal,” as a CBI officer investigating a murder.

The over two-minute trailer is filled with high-octane action scenes, including bike crashes, gunfights, and intense physical confrontations, complemented by sharp and witty dialogue penned by Hussain Dalal, known for his work on “Farzi,” “Brahmastra,” and “Fighter.” The narrative centers around two brothers, played by Gulshan, who find themselves embroiled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse amid a murder investigation, with Kazbe Mama’s looming presence complicating matters further.

Anurag Kashyap’s character, Kazbe Mama, is depicted as a unique villain with a blend of charisma and menace. Kashyap mentioned that his portrayal of Kazbe Mama was inspired by iconic performances of Nana Patekar in “Parinda” and Irrfan Khan in “Haasil,” aiming to bring a similar depth and intensity to his role.
