Acclaimed filmmaker Hansal Mehta has unveiled the first official poster of his much-anticipated series Gandhi, starring Pratik Gandhi in the titular role. The announcement marks a historic milestone as Gandhi becomes the first Indian series to premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2025, under its esteemed Primetime slate.

Sharing the announcement on Instagram, Mehta wrote, “We are honored to announce the world premiere of Gandhi at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival 2025, the first Indian series to be selected in TIFF’s prestigious Primetime slate!” Produced by Applause Entertainment and directed by Hansal Mehta, the series features music by Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman. The poster reveals Pratik Gandhi embodying the iconic Mahatma Gandhi, sparking excitement among fans and critics alike.
Based on Ramachandra Guha’s Works
The series is adapted from renowned historian Ramachandra Guha’s celebrated books — Gandhi Before India and Gandhi: The Years That Changed the World. The narrative promises a nuanced and compelling portrayal of Gandhi’s life and influence, both in India and globally.
Pratik Gandhi’s Other Upcoming Projects
Beyond Gandhi, Pratik Gandhi stars in the upcoming mission-based drama Saare Jahan Se Accha, premiering August 13. He plays intelligence officer Vishnu Shankar, alongside a powerful ensemble cast including Sunny Hinduja, Suhail Nayyar, Kritika Kamra, Tillotama Shome, Rajat Kapoor, and Anup Soni.
