The highly anticipated third season of Mirzapur is set to premiere on July 5, featuring a stellar cast including Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Rasika Duggal, Shweta Tripathi, and Vijay Varma. As excitement builds, one of the intriguing speculations is a potential crossover with other Prime Video shows. In a recent interview Ali Fazal unintentionally revealed that Jitendra Kumar’s character, Sachiv Ji from Panchayat, will make a cameo appearance in Mirzapur 3.

Fazal mentioned, “That’s cross-promotion. We have done that.” Jitendra Kumar will appear in two episodes as Sachiv Ji, dealing with paperwork related to Kaleen Bhaiya’s (Pankaj Tripathi) death.

Discussing the upcoming season with The Free Press Journal, Ali Fazal highlighted that it will take a different route with a stronger focus on drama. He noted, “Interestingly, we have introduced hand combat. We lose some important characters, but we gain some new ones. I underwent a different kind of preparation, which was fun.” He also expressed that his role in Mirzapur has been “career-defining,” significantly impacting his opportunities and shaping his trajectory in both Bollywood and Hollywood.

The recently unveiled trailer promises intense drama, bloodshed, and power struggles. It features Guddu Bhaiya (Ali Fazal) striving to assert his dominance over Purvanchal, with Rasika Duggal’s character switching allegiances to join him.

However, fans will miss the beloved character Munna Bhaiya, played by Divyenndu, who was killed off at the end of Mirzapur 2. Despite his death, many fans had hoped for his return due to the strong connection with his character, leaving some disappointed that he won’t be part of the new season.

Mirzapur 3 is set to intensify its gritty narrative, delving deeper into themes of power, politics, revenge, and betrayal within Mirzapur’s underworld. Pankaj Tripathi returns as Kaleen Bhaiya, determined to reclaim his dominance amidst a tumultuous power struggle with Guddu Bhaiya, portrayed by Ali Fazal. This clash sets the stage for a gripping showdown between these formidable characters, ensuring intense drama throughout the season.

Notably, the absence of Divyenndu, who played the iconic Munna Bhaiya, has been confirmed, eliciting mixed reactions from the show’s dedicated viewers. While some are disappointed by his absence, others are eager to see how the story evolves without him.

Since its premiere in November 2018, Mirzapur has become an instant hit due to its memorable characters, hard-hitting dialogues, and edgy screenplay. It quickly became one of the most streamed series in India, second only to Sacred Games. The third season promises to uphold the legacy, with fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this high-stakes saga of crime and power.
