BLACKPINK’s global icon Lisa is reportedly set to make her acting debut in the upcoming Netflix Korean action film Extraction: Taigo. Though the streaming giant has not officially confirmed the news, an exclusive report by entertainment page @PopCrave has sent fans into a frenzy. BLINKs — Lisa’s massive global fanbase — are already predicting that her performance will be a standout moment in the film.
Known for her magnetic stage presence and unmatched charisma, Lisa’s foray into acting has raised expectations sky-high. Social media is buzzing with speculation and excitement, with fans praising her natural screen appeal and speculating that she could steal the spotlight from the film’s seasoned cast.
Extraction: Taigo is a spin-off from Netflix’s successful Extraction franchise. The film will be directed by Lee Sang-yong, renowned for The Outlaws 2 and The Outlaws 3, and stars action heavyweight Ma Dong-seok alongside Lee Jin-wook. Production is scheduled to begin in mid-October 2025 after the Chuseok holidays and will continue until January 2026.
While the plot remains tightly under wraps, early reports suggest Ma Dong-seok will portray a mercenary on a mission to rescue a kidnapped comrade. Lee Jin-wook is rumored to play a rival figure, bringing added tension and depth to the storyline. Though part of the Extraction universe, Taigo is a standalone Korean story, and Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake is not expected to appear. The film marks Netflix’s continued push to globalize the Extraction franchise through local storytelling and star power.
