Get Ready for More Mayhem: Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Season 2 Teaser Out

Netflix has officially unveiled the first trailer for the much-awaited second season of its gothic horror-comedy hit Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega. The series returns with a dark twist and a new mystery as Wednesday embarks on her second year at Nevermore Academy. The new season will premiere in two parts the first on August 6, and the second on September 3.

The trailer features Ortega’s deadpan delivery in full form, with lines like, “It’s like returning to the scene of a crime I already know where the bodies are buried.” Viewers also get a glimpse of her vibrant roommate Enid (Emma Myers), and the quirky Addams family, including Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Gomez (Luis Guzmán), Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), and Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen).

New Faces, Familiar Twists, and Irish Gothic Vibes
Season two brings a shift in scenery as the show was filmed in Ireland, unlike the first season, which was shot in Romania. A fresh storyline also comes with a new character, Barry Dort, played by Steve Buscemi, who joins Nevermore as the school’s new principal. Several actors have joined the cast as series regulars, including Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor.

The guest star list is packed with big names, including Christopher Lloyd (the original Uncle Fester), Thandiwe Newton, Joanna Lumley, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.

A Cultural Phenomenon Returns
Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar with executive producer Tim Burton, Wednesday became Netflix’s most-viewed English-language series ever, racking up 252 million views. Jenna Ortega’s breakout role also paved the way for her appearance in Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. With season two around the corner, the darkness (and fun) is just getting started.
