Netflix India has released the official trailer for its new spy thriller Saare Jahan Se Accha, which features Pratik Gandhi in a gripping role as a R&AW agent trapped in a precarious standoff between India and Pakistan. The series takes place in the tumultuous 1970s and has all the ingredients for a classic spy thriller involving espionage, diplomacy, and the threat of nuclear war.
A Game of Survival Between R&AW and ISI
Pratik Gandhi stars as Vishnu Shankar, an Indian intelligence operative working deep cover in Pakistan to disrupt the nation’s clandestine nuclear program. As tensions rise, Vishnu must extricate himself from a kill-or-be-killed game of diplomacy and duplicity. He soon finds himself locked in a game of cat-and-mouse with ISI operative Murtaza Mallik, who is played by Sunny Hinduja.
The trailer introduces high-stakes action, psychological warfare, and the subtle intensity of spycraft. Vishnu’s every step is monitored, and global stakes hanging in the balance mean that the room for error is infinitesimally thin.
A Cast of Powerhouse Performers
Along with Gandhi and Hinduja are Tillotama Shome, Kritika Kamra, Rajat Kapoor, and Anup Soni, all in lead roles. Produced by Gaurav Shukla, the series delves into the “silent wars” waged by intelligence agents — the unseen heroes who risk their lives from the periphery.
The official synopsis states: “Set against the turbulent 1970s, when one wrong step could ignite a nuclear war around the world, Saare Jahan Se Accha unfolds as R&AW and ISI engage in a fatal strategic battle.”
Mission: Independence Day Release
Before it hit theaters on Aug. 13, Pratik Gandhi talked about his role, saying, “What attracted me was the intensity under the stillness and the emotional cost of being invisible yet combating India.”
Saare Jahan Se Accha makes its debut just in time for Independence Day, delivering patriotism and heart-pounding drama to the screen.
