Actor Aasif Khan, known for his roles in Paatal Lok and Panchayat, recently opened up about his recovery journey after being hospitalized last month. Initially reported as a heart attack, Aasif later clarified that he was diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which mimicked heart attack symptoms. Now, three weeks later, the actor has shared a major health update—and a heartfelt message of gratitude.

21 Days Smoke-Free and Stronger

On Friendship Day, Aasif posted a series of hospital photos and proudly revealed that he has quit smoking. “Log kehte hain 21 din mein har acchi buri aadat chhut jaati hai… today it’s been 21 days since I quit smoking,” he wrote. He chose the day to express love for friends who stood by him through difficult times. “In the highs, there’s a crowd of well-wishers, but in the lows, true friends stay.”

He added a reminder for fans not to wait for a health scare to make better life choices. “Meet your friends every day. Don’t make life’s deals over things worth 20-30 rupees,” he urged.

Recovery and Lifestyle Changes

Aasif clarified that he is now home and doing much better. “P.S. – I am at home, much better, much stronger. These photos are old!” he noted. In a previous interview with ETimes, he shared that doctors advised him to avoid rich foods like dal baati, limit non-veg intake, and adopt a more active lifestyle.
